The 2015/2016 Ulster Bank League was yet another nail-biting season, full of exciting and enthralling matches with the Division 1A final being played at the Aviva Stadium again this year, a fitting celebration of the club game in Ireland. Now it’s the time of the year when thoughts turn to new beginnings as teams across the country prepare for a new season ahead.
Ulster Bank are delighted to be celebrating our seventh season as Official Community Rugby Partner to the IRFU, which includes the title sponsorship of the All-Ireland Club League and the Irish Club International team.
As many of you know, local rugby clubs and club players are the lifeblood of the grassroots game and without it Irish rugby wouldn’t be the standard it is today. Each week players, coaches and volunteers dedicate their time and efforts to ensure that rugby continues to thrive across all levels and each year we continue to be impressed and inspired by the passion we see.
Over the past seven years we have supported grassroots rugby delivering meaningful help to clubs in our community with our Ulster Bank Rugby Force initiative and, more recently, the Ulster Bank ‘Drop Kick for your Club’ which took place at the Division 1A final in May. Make sure to follow us on our Facebook page www.facebook.com/ulsterbankrugby and on Twitter @ulsterbankrugby to keep up to date with all our initiatives and see how your club can get involved.
The Ulster Bank League Awards continue to grow each year and we are delighted to say that they will be returning for a 5th year. The awards recognise the commitment shown by players, coaches and teams, across all Ulster Bank League divisions and we look forward to celebrating their achievements again next year.
Ulster Bank is dedicated to the future of Irish rugby and we are looking forward to another outstanding period in club rugby, which no doubt will lead to a fantastic final next May. As clubs around the country get ready to kick off the new season, on behalf of everyone at Ulster Bank, I want to say good luck to all involved.
