President’s lunch kicks off 150th anniversary year celebrations

City of Armagh RFC President, Tim Taylor, hosted a special lunch at the start of January to launch the club’s 150th anniversary celebrations. Past Presidents, Past Captains and special guests were treated to a delicious 3 course meal sponsored by Yellow Door and Carnbrooke Meats. The president also thanked wine sponsor, Robb Brothers.
Special guests included Ronnie Chambers, at 90 years old, the club’s oldest past player. Ronnie spoke of his delight being selected to play for Armagh against Trinity College in 1951, at 18 years of age.
Past Captain in 1963, John Kingston was also present as was Eric Hamilton, Past President in 1985-87. Club secretary, Richard Black also interviewed club stalwarts, Keith Scott, James Morton and Gary Bell. A toast to absent friends was proposed by club chairman, John Callaghan.

The club president also thanked the 150 organising committee and everyone who made the event such a success.
