City of Armagh Women’s 1st XV produced a powerful attacking display at The Dub, on Sunday taking a 44–24 victory over Queen’s University 2s in an entertaining, high-scoring contest. Armagh burst out of the blocks with pace and precision, running in five first half tries. Their backline movement was sharp, and their support play kept Queen’s under constant pressure. Despite the early domination, Queen’s 2s showed resilience and struck back with three tries of their own, to keep the scoreboard ticking.
At halftime, Armagh held the momentum, but Queen’s remained within touching distance thanks to their determined efforts.
Armagh tightened their structure after the break and continued to find success out wide, adding three further tries to extend their lead. Queen’s 2s showed plenty of spirit and were rewarded with one second-half try, but the visitors’ consistency in attack proved the difference as the game wore on. Tamzin Graham delivered a standout performance, driving Armagh forward with strong carries, relentless work rate and tackles, making her a clear and deserving Maxxpresso Drive Thru Player of the Match.
Next up for the Senior Women is a home fixture at the Palace Grounds on Sunday 30th November in the final league fixture of 2025 against neighbours, Portadown, kicking off at 2pm.
