MINI RUGBY INFORMATION

New Players – Welcome! Parents / guardians of new players in the P1/P2 introductory group should stay during training for the first couple of months.

Registration – All players MUST be registered. Annual subscription is £70. Registration is now all online. Ask for instructions if unclear.

Training Times – P1 – P2s 9:00am – 10:00am P3 – P7 9:00am -10:30am.

Playing Kit – City of Armagh RFC branded Samurai kit is available to purchase in the club shop on most Saturday mornings during the season. This will include shorts, socks and playing shirts plus T Shirts and 1/4 zip tops etc. The unbranded red and black hooped playing jersey is available to purchase at World of Sport, Barrack Street, Armagh. Players should have studded boots. For younger age group gloves and hats are recommended during the colder months. Hoodies, baseball hats and jewellery are NOT permitted. Gum shields are strongly recommended especially from P4-P7 as these groups are at the full tackling stage.

Pick Up / Drop Off – It is the responsibility of the parents/guardians to ensure that all their children are brought over and collected to the relative age group training areas. We don’t, with one or two exceptions, have buses for away fixtures, talk to other parents and car share to away games.

Car Park – We have ample car parking, please keep speed to a minimum during drop off/pick up. DO NOT PARK alongside the 1st pitch to allow access for emergency medical access.

Coaches – All our coaches are Access NI (PSNI) checked, put through the club’s Child Protection training and have IRFU

Rugby coaching course accreditation. All our coaches are volunteers. Contact details for our coaches are contained within this club handbook.

Child Protection – If you have any issues or concerns on this please contact our Club Welfare Officer – Melanie Beggs – 07743 796897

Matches – A schedule of matches is on our new club website. Always check for last minute amendments.

WhatsApp – is used for general communication and notifications re fixtures etc

Weather – Our pitches are very well drained and as such, training is rarely cancelled, only in times of heavy frost. If we do have to cancel, we will try to communicate this in good time. Common sense will apply if there is heavy rain during training and coaches may decide to end the training early, so please be aware of this for pick-up arrangements.

Home Matches – On match days we feed all children after the matches. A rota is in place to assist with this, based on each age group parents taking their turn. Please offer your help to age group coaches.

Family Membership – Membership is for you, spouse & the kids. Family membership gives you a 10% bar discount.
